AHLA Names Top Ten Health Law Issues for 2009
Members Rank Healthcare Reform and the Uninsured
Most Important Issue for New Year
The American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) just released the list of the “Top Ten Issues in Health Law”, published in the January issue of Health Lawyers News magazine. Identified through surveys of the Association’s leadership and membership, the “Top Ten” ranks healthcare reform and issues of the uninsured as the most pressing topic of the new year. Ranking a close second and third were the impact of the recent economic downturn on healthcare providers’ operations and capital finance for healthcare facilities.
AHLA Executive Vice President and CEO Peter M. Leibold says “After a fifteen year hiatus, healthcare has again risen to the top of the national political agenda. AHLA’s job is to provide cutting edge information to our members. In order to know what to provide, the Association must foresee and analyze emerging health law trends.”
